Rachel Springford is a dedicated and accomplished professional with a remarkable career in social care and organisational leadership. Having grown up in care, Rachel brings a deeply personal understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the system. This lived experience has driven her passion for transforming residential care and improving outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.
Rachel began her career as a social worker, where she honed her skills in advocacy and support for children and families. She later became an Ofsted inspector, leveraging her expertise to ensure high standards in care settings. Her commitment to excellence led her to work as a Responsible Individual (RI), where she spent several years successfully transforming residential care companies to deliver better services.
Progressing to the role of Operations Director, Rachel demonstrated exceptional leadership and strategic planning skills, overseeing the smooth running and growth of care organisations. Today, as an owner, founder, and director, Rachel continues to lead with passion and purpose, driving innovation and positive change in the sector.
With her unique combination of lived experience and professional expertise, Rachel is a visionary leader dedicated to raising standards and creating environments where children and young people can thrive.
Rachel Springford has extensive experience of working in the Social Care sector, Rachel has worked previously as a Social Care Regulatory Inspector for Ofsted. Rachel is a registered qualified social worker, registered with SW England (SW102663).
Rachel has held several senior management roles as a Responsible Individual and worked as Operations Director for several registered care providers.
Her portfolio of work is one of transformation for registered care providers who have needed intensive support due to poor outcomes for children and young people. Rachel’s personal lived experience of the care system has helped her to develop these companies.
Rachel is a qualified Practice educator and is also trained in Systemic Family Therapy. Rachel was service lead within a Local Authority for a ‘Frontline Program’, which heavily embedded a systemic model within social worker practice. Rachel is passionate about the rights of care leavers and has previously played an active role in changing future policy and held post on the ‘Every Child Leaving Care Matters’ strategy, which became instrumental to the creation of the 'Staying Close Agenda'.
Rachel has written numerous ‘blogs/ articles’ advocating for the rights of children and young people in care.
After coaching rugby in the Uk and Singapore Chris began working with intercity youths and working on the school of hard knocks programme Chris turned his attention to working with youths in the care system.
A veteran of working in residential homes working his way up to a Operations Manager and Training officer Chris has over 17 years working within residential settings and with providers and local Authorities all over the north west. Chris specialises in delivery/writing of training bespoke to homes and service needs and also supporting the set up and continued development of settings.
Due to Chris’s extensive experience in the sector this makes him an excellent choice as a Regulation 44 Visitor.
20 years as a Detective Constable in Merseyside Police.
My expertise are Child Protection, Domestic Abuse and Vulnerable Adults.
I have a qualification in Serious and Complex Investigations and I am a Specialist Child Interviewer.
I have worked in multi agency teams and have excellent knowledge of other agencies policies and practices.
I have delivered Safeguarding training within the police force and externally to colleagues within education, care providers and community services.
With my background I can offer a unique perspective on Safeguarding and have a passion for sharing this with others.
TRAINING
We have over 20 years experience in Child Protection , Safeguarding and managing complex investigations in policing, we specialise in all aspects of Child Safeguarding training.
We have a comprehensive library of courses available including:

Our training sessions are accessible online (via Teams, Zoom) and face to face, in group or individual format, for organisations, community groups, education providers and families.
We work with organisations to provide bespoke training packages for their individual needs ensuring effective outcomes and learning opportunities.
CONSULTANCY
In addition to our training programmes we offer an in depth consultancy service supporting organisations with producing their own Child Safeguarding policies, investigations and allegations management including LADOs. Our knowledge and expertise in investigations, ensure we can work with you to make sure that you conduct thorough investigations and manage allegations effectively whilst offering the best support for your team and organisation.
I am a qualified Social Worker with over 15 years of experience, having worked across a range of roles including Social Worker, Team Manager, and Registered Manager of a Parent and Child Assessment Centre. Throughout my career, I have consistently delivered high-quality outcomes, including achieving a “Good” rating at first inspection, producing robust and analytical assessments, and supporting significant improvements in the lives of children and their families.
I take pride in delivering comprehensive, evidence-based assessments and in driving service improvement to enhance outcomes for children and young people. I also provide hands-on support and training to residential care teams, ensuring best practice in day-to-day operations.
In addition, I have undertaken the role of Acting Assistant Operations Manager, where I demonstrated strong leadership, operational oversight, and strategic planning, successfully supporting the growth and smooth running of staff teams and residential homes.
I am available to offer support in the following areas:
